URGENT: Parking Safety on Hough Lane15 January 2026 (by Jade Taylor (JadeT)) |
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are writing again regarding parking on Hough Lane, particularly in the area of the school crossing patrol.
Despite previous reminders, we are still experiencing ongoing issues with vehicles parking inconsiderately and obstructing the crossing patrol. This creates a serious safety hazard for pedestrians, including our pupils, families, and the crossing patrol staff themselves.
The crossing patrol must have a clear and unobstructed view of the road in order to operate safely. Vehicles parked too close to the crossing, on zig-zag markings, or in unsuitable locations significantly increase the risk of an accident.
We cannot stress enough that this is a matter of child safety. We ask all parents and carers to:
-
Park legally and considerately
-
Avoid stopping or parking near the crossing patrol point
-
Respect road markings and local traffic regulations
If unsafe parking continues, we may have no option but to escalate the matter to the appropriate authorities.
Thank you for your immediate cooperation in helping to keep everyone safe.
