Raising a Concern
Our Open Door Policy
At Kings Oak Primary School, we pride ourselves on having an open door policy and working closely with parents and carers to resolve any concerns quickly and effectively.
Raising a Concern
If you have a concern about your child, we encourage you to follow the steps below:
Step 1: Speak to the Class Teacher
In the first instance, please speak to your child’s class teacher. They are usually available before and after school and can often resolve concerns promptly.
Step 2: Contact the Headteachers
If your concern cannot be resolved by the class teacher, you may make an appointment to speak with one of our Headteachers:
-
Mrs Wilks
-
Miss Meiner
Additional Support
Our Parent Support Advisor, Mrs Morton, may also be able to offer help and guidance. More information can be found on the Parent Information – Parent Support Advisor page of our website.
Formal Complaints
For complaints of a more serious nature, please write to the Headteacher. Your complaint will be fully investigated, and you will receive a response within 10 school days.
If you feel your complaint remains unresolved, or you do not wish for it to be dealt with by Mrs Wilks or Miss Meiner, you may contact our Chair of Governors:
Mr Christopher Broadhead
Kings Oak Primary School
Wells Lane / Bondfield Close
Wombwell
Barnsley

Alternatively, you can email the Governors directly at:

Complaints About the Headteacher or Head of School
If your complaint specifically concerns the Headteacher or Head of School, the informal procedure still applies. However, concerns should be raised with the CEO of Waterton Academy Trust, who can be contacted via:
