EARRINGS11 January 2024 (by Joanne Swift (j.swift)) |
Can we remind you that on health and safety grounds as advised by the local authority, the wearing of earrings is discouraged in school. If parents opt for their child to wear earrings, they must be small studs; hoops and large or dangly earrings are not permitted. Only one pair of small studs is allowed to be worn in school. Children who have had their ears pierced who are participating in P.E., swimming, sports or physical activities should not come to school wearing earrings on those days. If they do, pupils will be asked to remove earrings and to store them themselves.
If children wear stud earrings there must be a parent’s/carer’s understanding that the school will not be liable in the event of an accident/incident.
