Personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education
Vision
At Kings Oak Primary Learning Centre, PSHE is at the centre of what we do. We promote pupils’ good health and wellbeing to give pupils the knowledge, skills, and understanding they need to lead confident, healthy, independent lives and become informed, active, healthy, responsible members of the community.
Within a society that is ever-changing, we are able to provide all children with a strong understanding of the diverse world around them. The promotion of pupils’ development (which includes their social development) is a fundamental aspect of education and underpins all other learning. We believe that excellence within PSHE will lead to excellence in all areas of the curriculum. Through our curriculum, our school environment, and our school ethos, we promote pupils’ self-esteem and emotional wellbeing and help them to form and maintain worthwhile and satisfying relationships.
We follow a whole school approach where we promote and reinforce key values to our students. These include:
- We are honest
- We are gentle
- We are kind and respectful to others
- We look after our environment
- We are ready to learn and do our best
